GET TO KNOW

Our Founder

The reason I opened this practice and why I am so passionate about working with my client’s is because of what I learned during my own adversity and pain. Several years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer and was told that it had spread into my lymph nodes. What followed were very aggressive and relentless chemotherapy treatments, multiple surgeries, and the subsequent battle with opiate abuse and dependence. It was then when I learned just how powerful and beneficial our pain and adversity can be…if we CHOOSE to use it to grow and become a better version of ourselves. Before I had the opportunity to experience the two most life-altering challenges of my life, I was one who would constantly hide from failure, didn’t value myself much, would spend a lot of time trying to portray myself as having it together, didn’t have a belief in myself or my instincts, and chose to accept mediocrity so nothing great was expected from me.

I learned a lot during those two battles. I eventually realized that if cancer couldn’t beat me and drug addiction couldn’t stop me, there was nothing that could stop me.

One of the moments that I will remember is that I actually felt relief when i was diagnosed with cancer. I realized how much of my stress, anxiety, and overall discontent about life came from my own unhealthy thinking and behavior. There is so much unnecessary stress that we create (or exacerbate) for ourselves and when you feel the elation and euphoria when you are able to let go of all the irrational and unnecessary thinking and feel what it is like to approach life with confidence and trust in yourself because you now know that nothing can actually stop you…accept YOU. I learned that when we can manage the obstacles and realize that we have so much more control of our mentality, finding solutions is actually easier than you think.

My life’s mission is to show people how they can apply a solution-focused approach to overcome any obstacles that stand between you and who you want to be. Why continue living a life without meaning and purpose when there are solutions waiting for you? It is your time and your turn!

Mental Health Tip of the Day: Pay attention—Don’t let entitlement ruin you.

I experienced a moment yesterday evening while driving home. As all of my clients know, I am pretty candid when it comes to owning my own mistakes and failures and also am a huge advocate for therapists who can be human and feel confident and secure enough to freely discuss our own mistakes and use them as opportunities to model what we did in response (practice what we preach)
